How to use it

  1. Enter the area in square feet.
  2. Enter the tile size and grout joint width.
  3. Add 10% waste (15% for diagonal layouts or small rooms).
  4. Read tiles and boxes needed.

How it works

Each tile occupies (length + joint) × (width + joint) square inches. Tiles = area × 144 ÷ that footprint, plus waste, rounded up.

FAQ

How many 12 × 24 tiles in 100 square feet?

About 50 tiles before waste, 55 with 10% waste (with a 1/8 in joint).

What grout joint should I use?

Rectified porcelain often uses 1/16-1/8 in; non-rectified tiles 3/16 in or more - follow the tile maker's guidance.
